Free Electric Bikes Shipping to India for Pilot Testing

I’m writing to update you on our progress with manufacturing and distributing Free Electric. Our team at Stage 2 has been working tirelessly on our first shipment of 25 Free Electric bikes, which are now on their way to India.

Around the third week of March, these bikes will be distributed at no charge to a sample of energy-poor households, schools, and small businesses in villages close to Lucknow, Amethi and Raebareli. This is essentially a pilot study to gauge how well Free Electric works in the real world.

We’re partnering with a local distributor and non-profit group to help with assembly, and to train others on how to assemble and troubleshoot the bike. We’re also conducting pre/post surveys with recipients to learn their perspectives on the benefits of the bike, as well as to get their feedback about how we can improve it.

Once we have enough results from the pilot we will make our broader production and distribution plan.

Stay tuned to social media for photos and updates from our team working on this exciting milestone. You can also check out the FAQ page on our website if you’re looking for more specific information.

Thank you for your continued interest and support. We’re one step closer to fulfilling our vision of deploying Free Electric to those who need it most.
